Austin graduated from Western Illinois University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Nutrition. After completing his undergraduate degree he returned to WIU and in 2015 earned his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. In addition to his degrees, Austin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach.

Austin played basketball in high school and has always had a strong passion for sports and fitness. This passion led him to explore a career in strength and conditioning as a freshman in college. During this time, Austin had a shadowing experience with the WIU strength and conditioning department. This gave him the opportunity to see the impact a strength and conditioning coach can have on an athlete’s performance as well as on their long term health and well being.

Austin joined our team at the Florida Institute of Performance in August of 2017 after having many hands on opportunities to continue learning and developing his coaching skills. His experiences included internships at a sports performance center and a DII college designing and implementing programs for a variety of athletes, teams and active adults. Additionally, Austin was a graduate assistant at WIU in Fitness Services and Facility Management. In this role, he was responsible for creating and executing personalized exercise programs, performing physiological testing, conducting fitness assessments, and coordinating daily facility operations.

Before joining FIP, Austin also worked as a personal trainer and was the Director of Strength and Conditioning at North Greene High School in Illinois. While at North Greene, he started the strength and conditioning program for eight athletic teams and was directly responsible for all aspects of the program from equipment acquisition to the designing and coaching of the program.

Through his strong coaching, communication and leadership skills, Austin wants to provide his athletes the tools to improve their athletic performance as well as those to develop a strong work ethic, dedication and perseverance.

Austin is originally from Illinois and currently lives in West Palm Beach. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, fishing and going to the beach.
